What is it?
Supported living is a model of 24 hour support in which you live in your own home, traditionally with 24 hour support on site. Our leadership team have many years of collective experience in developing supported living services. Our schemes have even picked up a few awards along the way and all have been rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
What's changed?
These 24 hour schemes were great replacements for hospitals and care homes, but to often they became little institutions in which you the tenant had little control and regulators like the Care Quality Commission highlighted that some were effectively Care Homes which restricted opportunity.
We thought about this and agreed that Supported Living today should be an amazing place to live tomorrow. Lucky for us we could plan for the next generation - so we threw out the 'rule' book and started again!
What we do!
Our support is based on the model of Co-production; a way of working where service providers and users, work together to reach a collective outcome. To support This we have partnerships with Housing Associations who can develop and design your housing and support agreements to ensure you keep control.
Our collaborative approach means you retain the right to choose your care. Never again will you be required to commit to one model of care, or leave your tenancy to get support that works.
"It's time to throw away the established model of 'care' where the care provider effectively owns 'your' housing and you must fit in with their care or you risk losing your tenancy. A move forward to an inclusive model in which the support is built with, for and around you".
There is no typical support 'package' as every plan of support is built with you at the heart of your care. A truly Person Centred approach to your support - your way. What we offer is the chance to create individual and group living environments that work for you.
24 Hour virtual support options
Don't assume 24 hour support has to mean people in your home all the time. It can be a combination of direct staff support and on demand contact via phone, WhatsApp, video calling or however you communicate. When you go shopping you might just need a little help, advice or reassurance that can be done from your device. The same quality response done digitally.
Great housing design!
Importantly, we also recognise the importance of great housing design and the team at Enhance alongside members of For the Good of Care have built a reputation for working with others to design homes for people with autism, social and sensory differences. Design that changes the way people feel about their home.
Support for your future!
Our lifespan approach ensures we understand current assessed needs and wishes whilst supporting every individual towards their vision of their personal future. Our support is focused on enhancing positive opportunities that facilitate greater independence.
So you decide your mix of practical and emotional support, help with daily living and support around your personal care.
Our Promise
We will work in partnership with you, your important others, the commissioning local authority and other key stakeholders to agree on a care plan built with, around and for you.
