Enhance Social Care is a member of the For the Good of Care group of Companies, whose mission is to solve national issues at a local level for people who are autistic or have a learning disability. A significant minority of autistic people are at risk of losing independence or community presence because care and support is not available within their home. This includes people who may be defined by the behaviours they rely upon to manage their world.
Enhance Social Care was established to provide inclusive, innovative, and responsive care and support for people with autism or a learning disability in their own home. An inclusive model of support in which all people have the right to the same opportunities to live within their community, be able to develop and maintain relationships and get the support they need to live a healthy, safe and fulfilling life.
We take a holistic approach utilising best practice systems developed in the field of learning disability and autism. Our support is focused on enhancing the strengths of each individual whilst facilitating opportunities for independence and includes support with daily living, including personal care.
We work with the individual, their family, the commissioning local authority and other key stakeholders to agree on a care plan that best suits that person’s needs. We will ensure that we utilise assistive technology where possible and lead the way with innovative applications and devices which help promote independence, reduce reliance on paid support and keep individuals safe.
Our support is strengthened the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) which combines the conceptual framework of applied behaviour analysis with the value base of social role valorisation and framework of person-centred approaches. PBS is about building trust, building relationships, developing strengths, new skills and behaviours that safely gain or avoid for the person.
We take a lifespan model of support that considers how interventions now may impact on a person’s future, with a focus on facilitating greater emotional and practical independence.
Lot's of people 'talk' about person centred support but do they really do it? Find out what we mean by putting the person at the heart of their support!
